Social Deprivation Index

The Social Deprivation index is a measure of poverty that uses a scale of 1 to 10, where 10 is the highest level of deprivation. A city council report states the outcomes of social deprivation include diminished life expectancy, increased lawlessness, unemployment and numbers of solo parent families. Life outcomes are less favourable than would otherwise be expected.
